Citibank Tap-and-Save Debit Card

Hi, I had recently applied for the citibank tap-and-save card for its benefits...cash rebate of 2% for transport rides and 1% for any merchants that accepts signature-based visa.

However, I got myself into alot of trouble by getting this...真是自找麻烦。Cause I wanted to change the auto-top-up amount from $30 to $50 instead. By changing a higher amount, I get higher rebate after deducting the convience fee(25cents).
[(2% X $30)-$0.25] = $0.35 / [(2% X $50)-$0.25] = $0.75

HOHO...叫我省钱公主 :P

Let me tell you the confusing process that I went through...

First, I call the Ezlink to enquire on how to change. Then the staff told me I had to deactivate the auto-top-up first, then after 10days, go to online to reapply first. http://www.ezlink.com.sg/consumer/consumer_auto2.jsp. But maybe the lady do not know that the card I is a debit card that couldn't access online.

Therefore, I waited for a few days...and I call again to check if I could reapply.

Next, another staff from Ezlink told me that I couldn't apply through online and could only do manually filling up a form and sent back. So I was confused. I call Citibank hotline to check if they know the process. Then customer servicer asked me to go to Ezlink website to download the form http://www.ezlink.com.sg/consumer/consumer_giro2.jsp. But I told them it was for DBS/POSB bank only, where bank code had been written on the form. Then we chit chat a while and come to a conclusion. She would call the Ezlink and contact me again.

Then I didn't receive any reply...

So I call again, the other staff from Ezlink hotline told me I have to get the form from Translink Ticket Office which they did not have it. So I just consult the Citibank staff counter (as both were near each other), then I finally get the form that I'm been looking for. 为了一张纸, 费尽口水

Conclusion, check directly with the staffs @ the counter. They might know even more then those hotlines. If not, then call...

By the way, the manual form (get from the Citibank counter or call Ezlink hotline to sent through email) was not the Giro form. It was link to your debit card and doesn't cost any application fee (the staff from Ezlink hotline told me). As for Giro, the Ezlink will be charging $1.50 application fee from 26-Feb-2010.
